BITSAT  is a online test which are taken on computer to  Admission for Integrated First Degree prgm  of BITS Pilani Campuse ,HYDERABAD CAMPUS AND GOA CAMPUS for the session of 2011-2012.

BITSAT 2011 Syllabus:

The BITSAT-2011 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th class. The detailed syllabus is given in the brochure. BITSAT 2011 Syllabus


BITSAT 2011 Important Dates
 students had to fill an application form with attaching the details of the 12th class marks. The prescribed application form, the detailed application procedure and the final list of degree programmes will be available by 20th May, 2011 on the BITS website



         BITSAT Test Details

‘Computer Based Online test’ means candidate is allotted a computer  and the questions are showed on the computer screen and the candidate answers the questions on the computer through the use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which makes the question set and transfers it to the candidate on the computerwhich is located at different centers. the bitsat will gave the option of selecting the time and date of exam you want to give online.

BITSAT-2011 Test Format
It consists of four sections
the paper will be of 3 hours without any interval.        
          Part I       :           Physics
         Part II       :         chemistry
         Part III     :        (a) English Proficiency and           (b) Logical Reasoning
         Part IV      :        Mathematics
  
There will be 150 questions in all.questions will be of  multiple choice questions in which four options are there.out of four 1 will be correct.every correct answer will give you 3 marks and wrong answer will deduct your 1 mark.no changing of marks if you leave the question.
candidate can skip a question but the computer doesnot allow to tick 2 options. The number of questions in each part is as follows:

The candidate can redirect  back and can alter\change any of his/her answers among those 150 questions.

The questions are designed in  a good manner, the 150 questions in 180 minutes to answer. Additional questions (maximum 12) will give you the opportunity to very deserving candidates scored higher. However, the applicant should keep  the fact in mind that there are  negative marking  for wrong answers and any attempt to answer the  questions by purely guessing one can reduce her\him marks.
The questions are randomly selected from a library of question banks. Different candidates have different sets of questions. An expert committee will ensure that the number of questions of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc. In this case, the decision of the expert committee final and binding on candidates.
All questions and instructions of the test is in English only. Applicants must be accompanied by a pen to rough work on sheets, etc. rough sheet can be given if necessary. Calculators and logarithmic tables are not allowed in the examination centers. Candidates may not bring personal items such as mobile phones.

Any candidate who is registered for BITSAT 2011 should have hall ticket or admit card. Candidates with the hall ticket only allowed inside the test centers. All sites are closely linked to security and candidate activities are recorded and monitored with the help of  webcams and / or surveillance cameras. candidate violating any rule is not to allowed to give the test. and will be automatically disqualified

 BITSAT Eligibility:


Eligibility criteria: For admission to any of the above integrated first degree programmes the candidate should have passed the 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized central or state board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Further, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of 80% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th class examination, at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency in English
However, admissions will be made only on his/her merit position based on the score obtained in BITSAT-2011
Only students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2011 or who have passed the 12th class examination in 2010 are eligible to appear for BITSAT-2011
Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear for BITSAT-2011
Direct admission to board toppers
Students who obtain first rank in any central or state level board exam in India held in the year 2011 will be given direct admission to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2011 scoresubject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned above
In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2011, candidates will have to apply for admission to BITS through a separate application form for seeking admission to programmes offered at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses along with the details of the 12th class marks. The prescribed application form, the detailed application procedure and the final list of degree programmes offered will be available by 20th May, 2011 on the BITS website www.bitsadmission.com

application form should be submitted along with  the prescribed fees of Rs 1500/- (Rs 1000/- for female candidates) should be sent to admission officer, BITS, Pilani-333031
The test will be held in between 11th May - 10th June, 2011.

Duration of test will be 3 hours and students have to go at their nearest respective centres which are mentioned to be in admit cards.Various centres are located in different cities including india and dubai.
the test will be of objective type and contains MCQ(multiple choice questions)
Last date of submitting completed application :5pm 31st january 2011
